The Beginning of Journey

I dedicated to make this blog to write the story of myself and what i want to share about myself, i hope one day my blog can inspire or at least somewhat be interesting story for people somewhere :)

About Me

Hello, my name is Jimmy, i was born in Indonesia and was working as a small business owner for 3 years after i graduated from university. I've been a fan of programmer since i was a kid (actually a game developer), and had a dream to become a programmer one day.

How I Started

I always has a dream to become game developer, to the point that i made an "unfinished" game with RPG Maker VX (Ruby Language). yes, its unfinished because there's just too many stuff that i have to make database, sprite, actual code for game features (even though i mostly get from forum). xD

Long story short, i didn't continue my game developing and focused on my school life. Just when business is kinda stall because of Coronavirus breakout, i'm thinking that programming might be a good thing to learn (because how advanced technology now). So i decided to start looking through what programming i would want to learn.

Starting My Journey

I asked one of my friend (he's smart so i trust him well) about what i can become as programmer and where do i start. It was very confusing cause there's alot of new terms that i dont understand, even some term is different (as how github use term of pull, push, clone). It's not an easy start but i could manage it because of some logic from my game developing days.

I started with Python, becaue my friend said it's one of the easiest language to learn as beginner, so i learned them throught some youtube channel, end up with make some project with it, not great one, but its honest work hehe.

• Tower of Fantasy Gacha Rate Calculator and Simulator

What's Next

After some learning about python, i decided to become Web Developer (after some thought because in my country, game developing is kinda unpopular job xD). I started myself with freecodecamp.org learning program

I've Cleared Frontend Curricullum until React, then ended up learning framework independently through website and youtube.

Starting my self-taught journey, i started using VSCode and Github, it was rough because i've never use any terminal or actual extension so it took me some time to get used to it, and then i started to make some project and learn Next JS.

I think that's all that i can share currently, im gonna continue some of my project diaries through other post. Hopefully this can be my motivation when im low and keep continue forward after backreading this. Thank you for reading till now, hopefully you enjoy my "plain" kind of story :)
